It's like a free Internet upgrade.
Faster Internet
BrowseSafe improves your experience by giving you better DNS.
DNS (Domain Name System) is how website names are translated into the numerical Internet Protocol (IP) addresses that computers use to locate each other. When you type a website's domain name (e.g. www.browsesafe.com) into your browser, the first place your request goes is to a DNS server that looks up that website's IP address. This can get delayed if the DNS server you use is far away, overburdened or outdated. Worse, if your default DNS server doesn't know the IP address, it passes your request on to another DNS server, and the process starts over.
BrowseSafe users benefit from having their webpage requests routed directly to our super-fast DNS servers. We maintain an enormous cache of DNS information on millions of websites to make sure that we have correct IP addresses ready to go whenever you are. That caching is what helps speed up your web browsing.
Safer Internet
Guard against identity theft and inappropriate content.
BrowseSafe maintains up-to-date lists of known malicious phishing sites and pages that feature adult and pornographic content.
So, for example, as BrowseSafe takes care of a DNS request, we can also instantly check to make sure that the website is not actually a known phishing site set up to steal your private information or money. If it is, we'll block it.
The same goes for adult sites. BrowseSafe has the ability to automatically stop cold requests for known pornographic websites. That means a cleaner, safer Internet for you and your family.
